The droll and witty opening monolog is about the high point of Jack Webb's only comedy that he did with Robert Mitchum in 1961.

Great lords of Cobalt have lead you astray - Don't you know Earth is the opposite way? About the best two scenes from a REALLY bad show of my youth.

A view of Highland Park California from it's early days to the present
Dirk's still going strong at age 79. I heard from him recently while on FB to my surprise. I was talking about how ROM Spaceknight. Was swiped from GORT/ Klaatu from The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) movie. And from the look of the BSG 78 Cyclons.
When I was 10 years old these came to me more technological. 😅
Lived on Terrace 49 all through the 70's as a kid. I need to check this out on a bigger screen, this is so cool!
When I watched this as a kid I thought oh Starbuck fixed him once now he has parts from 3 more cylons to fix him again.

"Enemy Mine" 5 years before "Enemy Mine" came out.
I disliked it, when my parents would let me see only ten minutes of each episode, than made me go to my room to sleep. I saw most introductions and some of it,...but than,...never the full episodes. It is only in my later life I was able to catch up with all episodes and series. Like BSG.
I'm hard pressed to think of very many really GOOD BSG episodes, but that was one of them. Still cheesy, of course, but nonetheless a good episode.
The voice of "Laugh In" as the Cylon
Friends. 👍
Why was his voice like that instead of like the other cylons?
I love this episode, it's my favorite!! I think that the reason Starbuck didn't rebuild another Cylon,is because it wouldn't have been the same as Cy, and he didn't have the Hart to do it!! I think that the reason why he didn't use the Cylon Fighter to get back to the fleet, was because he wouldn't have been able to catch up with them,on the fuel it had, and the fleet was probably way out of range for him to reach. Not only that,it takes 2 to fly the Cylon Fighter, and he can't do it by himself. Not only that, but it might have compromised the fleet, if he tried to meet up with them. He also wouldn't have been able to contact the fleet,so they might have shot at him, thinking that he was just another Cylon Fighter, trying to attack them. Just my opinion though.
This was My favorite episode, but unfortunately it's not on the boxed DVD set, of the original series. It was in the Battlestar Galactica,1980 series. That's not on DVD, at least I couldn't find it, if it is.
That Cylon sounded like Richard Ansara,….
I remember being 6 years old and ballimg my eyes out when this happened
Does anybody know what episode this is because I'm trying to find the full episode on RUclips if somebody's posted it so I can watch it
The Return of Starbuck from Galactica 80. Probably the best episode from that run.
Thanks for that information unfortunately I looked it up and on RUclips they don't have the full version of this episode and nowhere can you stream it for free. This is unfortunate because this is one of the better episodes
@@sandrabrantley38 Tubi has had it in the past. They had both seasons at one time. Unfortunately at the moment it isn't on there. It will probably be back up sometime in the future. You can always find the dvd set online.
This episode should've ended with Starbuck getting rescued by the Ship of Lightss and returing to the Colonial Fleet.
Like the terminator 2 death scene. And Hugh of borg in TNG Everything old is new again
Definitely a Good Cylon. It didn’t deserve to end like that.
The voice wasn't consistent here with what cylons have
I bought the original Galactica-1980 DVD collection solely for this episode. Was so happy when the reboot decided to remake it with "You Can't Go Home Again" (in a manner of speaking)
Couldn't Starbuck use parts from the centurions they shot to repair Cy? Then take off in the ship they came in?
I.watched the fool out of this show but don't remember this
That was a great episode
after starbuck retired, he opened his own business.
We were taking a vote when the ground came up and hit us. xD
I would have thought that Starbuck could repair cy,then both of them escape in the cylon fighter 😁
That Cylon sounds too much like Peter Cullen (KARR).
Such a cool show
confuse Starbuck w/ Don Johnson
Ahhh memories. This was my favorite episode. I couldn't believe starbuck would be stranded alone. It would have been great if he made it to earth with the fleet to open overpriced coffee franchises run by liberal snowflakes. Meh, maybe for the best.
I'm not sure what is worse, the dialogue or the abundance of tin foil.
The only _decent_ episode of Galactica 1980. Starbuck is the MAN.
I liked this episode because to "humanized" this cyclon.
Uh... which "two scenes from a really bad show" are you talking about? I only see scenes of 1978 masterpiece Battlestar Galactica. Maybe RUclips took down those two scenes, or something like that!
Say what you like about Starbuck’s return but the whole series was trash. Really disappointing premise and so disappointing to have gotten rid of 90% of the original cast.
Starbuck should have been firing with him not after the Cylon got hit
I feel this way every time I come to the end of a good Bing Chat.
The series went out with a bang. This was one of its best episodes ever! It also was it's last episode.
So missed this wasn't a fan of the one that followed,to much politics not enough aliens and Cylons, the innocent time's before the idiot's took over government's,and school's,
Let's not forget the Cylon brought him a woman in that episode 😁
*why I will NOT have a self driving car….
And next he took apart the others and repaired him and took off in the new ship...
Enemy mine! 😊
I have not seen this episode since it originally aired but it still resonates.
After all these years, I have a very disturbing thought about this episode. After the new Cylons were deactivated, why didn't he just climb aboard the newly landed Raider and fly off after the fleet?
I wondered that as well, though he might be shot at by friendlies too....
Or it takes all three to pilot the ship.
Had Starbuck and his Cylon did get back to the Galactica and the fleet with the undamaged Cylon fighter after the 3 Cylons who came to get him were destroyed, would Commander Adama let the Cylon still function after what his kind did to the Colonies?
This episode caught me in the ❤️! After this one, I was an avid fan of the Cylons. Always loved their design, their modulated voices, and the roving eye. I liked them more than stormtroopers.... At least, Cylons had better aim, though they were slower.
